Hey…we’ve got some questions too!

Posted by michellemoquin on June 20th, 2008

Well my alien joke didn’t bring the aliens back but it did bring a few others missing in action…

HowieHowie…so good to hear from you!  Where is your side kick Al? I only call him your side kick because you two seemed to have disappeared from my blog at the same time - are you two in kahootz? :)  kidding aside…

I am so sorry to hear that your health has taken a turn. I can imagine how scared and confused you must be. How are you feeling? I understand your circumstance and your need to know. I have not had a chance to speak to Azza about you, but I will try to get a hold of Tal through the channels of communication and ask him. Maybe he is reading this. Is there nothing that Carr can do to help? I know you avoid asking for assistance from Carr, that your relationship is not like that, but?…I don’t mean to get into your personal with him, I just thought maybe…Anyway, take care of yourself and hopefully you will get an answer soon.

Heelloo Madaline:  Well, you don’t have to worry about too many questions from this blog…can anyone even get in? I know the regulations are different  here compared to Asia.  So wha’ats up Maddie? You’re four days late in getting here.  Do tell…I am anxious to hear all that has been happening over there. Plus I have a few questions myself. I don’t know if you have been catching up on the blog or not so I will repeat:

  • I have asked about this gas crisis a few times - S&D? or manipulation? What can we as people do about it?
  • It is election year as you know -dish the dirt on the candidates. I want to know so feel free to be frank.
  • What is happening with you and the girls in Pakistan?

Hey ZL: - Checked it out and not sure what your problem is - I don’t know what theme you are using so your template may be different than mine. The title looked fine to me. But if you are talking about the bold letters in the beginning body of your article, it looks like you are in  ‘heading’ format i/o ‘paragraph’ format. Maybe ‘heading’ was clicked on in the drop down menu of your post when you were writing. The format is listed in the very left side of your menu. Without seeing your template it is hard to know but I hope this helps. Call me if you want to discuss further. :)

Hey what’s happening with the job scene? Anything new and exciting popping up?

Did I just go from “sweet Pea” to “babe?” Is that a down grade or a lateral promotion?

Yes, you have my permission to post to Michelle. But I would appreciate it if you would delete any reference I made to my mother.

As for Ed, perhaps I was too hard on him. I just do not understand the mentality that says it’s okay for the government to commit crimes. This is another reason for a change in Washington.

This morning the house voted to pass the patriot act that shields the phone companies that participated in illegal acts on behalf of the government. The message to us corporate entities is: cooperate with the government to violate the rights of American’s citizens and we will immunize you. Don’t cooperate and lose big business.

What do you think the corporations are going to do. These hypocrites have just created the atmosphere that allowed Hitler to rise to power. They have empowered the leader of the Executive branch in ways that could lead to unprecedented civil abuses against the American people. The last branch of government that could stand up to the Executive branch just sold out to big business. You should google the phone companies contribution fillings. You will most certainly find that those who voted to support the bill are receiving big contributions from the telecommunication industry.

The hypocrites in the house know that they won’t be held accountable for their sellout because constituents like Ed don’t think it matters as long as he can ride their “coat tails.” Is there any wonder that the rich can propose a trickle down theory as a means of helping the less fortunate.

    Ed:
Do you really believe that in order to help the middle class economically the government must first enrich the top 2% wealthiest of the country so that they will create jobs and opportunities for rest of the country with their excess. That is the exact mind set that enables those crooks to tell you that you need an insurance company to act as a middle man between you and access to your physician.

I can afford to do without Obama. I can stand on my aversion to voting for a black man as President of the USA, but you ED are so unaware of how much you need Obama. You are being ripped off on so many levels that whatever monetary trickle down reward you are receiving isn’t worth it.

What kind of government will you be leaving to your children? Without the checks and balances that the three separate branches of our government provide who will insure that a de facto dictatorship will not be the order of the day. The Bush administration has already bought and paid for their Supreme Court appointees. Scalia’s handing Bush the presidency and his recent tirades about the Supreme Court’s ruling on detention illustrates what can be bought with such a prestigious appointment. They are appointing federal judges who will just as dishonest and their appointments are for life.

The real lasting legacy of this administration is the totally dishonest judiciary that will be left behind. Our children will have to live under these crooks for generations.

I am writing this to you here Ed because I know that you would never heed this warning. It’s just an exercise of my mental mind set. It verifies my contention that I should keep control of my money and power. Giving it to the likes of you Ed would do nothing for my country and leave me without a wedge to effect change through my own methods or by backing someone(s) who has a better chance of success.

I know that this will not go over well with my mother, but my love of country must prevail. I will make every effort to amass an even greater fortune. So that means, I’m returning to the Republican fold. This will be my last political tirade.

I will not hypocritically promote the Republican phony talking points, but neither will I knock the Democrats just to confuse the issues. So I will just opt out.

I will make one last statement to Ed on your blog Zen about the flap over Obama opting out of the public financing sham if that is okay with you.

Hi Michelle, this is Anonz’s response to Ed posting a list of 27 liberal talking points on my site - he’s a full blown Repub…

Anonz, hear yourself roar, babe, that’s a lateral promotion ; ) if you want to be downgraded you have to act like an ignorant jerk, guess that isn’t going to happen. Just thought I’d mix it up in case -sweet pea- was getting old or you just didn’t like it.
And I’m not sure ed tunes in here, he told me he stumbled on my site reading ’cause to celebrate’ entry - had typed in ‘relationsips’ or something like that…I do have a link to this site in an old entry, not sure about my new site having one, will highlight you manana Michelle!

    Ed

Do you actually believe what you write? I ask because I used to spout most of the same diatribes when referring to liberals. It impressed the women that I found attractive at the time. They were basically air heads that tended to be republicans because their mothers told them thats were the money was. And I found out later for some of those women who married some of my good friends that their mothers also told them that the men would be hypocrites who would spout deep christian values while chasing everything in a skirt that would stop for a moment.

The honest truth is their mothers were right. The most conservative religious powerful people I have ever met were all hypocrites. They never considered that what they preached for the flock applied to them. Their hypocrisy knew no bounds, the most virulent anti gays were themselves gay. Most aren’t real racists. It’s just that racism pays so well.

It is rarely I get an opportunity to tell a fellow conservative what I now feel about the bullshit that we spiel to the little people, so please allow me the opportunity to answer your often parroted narrative from the neither liberal nor conservative point of view.

Your contention that 80% of the media is “liberal.” is just plain bullshit. It was a pick up line we devised when I was in college to get into the pants of the Brown girls. We actually practiced using 70, 75, 90, until we settled on 80%. Frankly, it was a winner. Sitting around the quad stroking the Brown girls with our conservative witticisms was always good for a sensual moment in the local motel. It has always been amusing that the “little conservatives” (no disrespect intended) picked up on it and now parrots it as if it were gospel.

If you ever watch Fox, then you see what it is like to have bias bull pumped out to the American people on a daily basis. Sure there are some media outlets biased towards the democrats. But not to the extent that they will ignore any blatant wrong by the democrat as the Fox group does for the republicans.

You NEVER get the complete story from Fox.

Why doesn’t Democrats, Republicans work any more? Before you switch us all to either “liberals” or “conservatives” shouldn’t you give us some definition of what your connotation of the words are. Please tell us in your opinion what makes one a “liberal” or a “conservative.” That may speak louder than the double speak you are using to get around what you really mean when you say you are a “conservative.”

Or are you too afraid to say on a blog what we as conservatives say to each other when we celebrate together. I don’t mean to be a whistle blower, but I am not afraid to say that what I have always meant when I said I am a conservative was I inherently believed that I was at least a touch better because I am a white American. I am not saying that I wished any non whites harm, but I am man enough to admit that I didn’t think they were my equals. I am not asking you to admit the same. After all I am replying under a pseudonym, while you have the entire non white community to contend with. So we will continue to talk in code, but I know where you are coming from.

You had better use your code better because when you state that nothing good was done by the “liberals” since the civil rights moment you have just admitted what I whistle blew. Conservative is code for it’s okay to believe that you are better than someone else because ________(fill in the blank). It was noted that you stated that in that case a little civil rights for the non whites was okay.

How about the resulting child labor laws, pedophile statutes that were passed, a woman’s right not to be raped by her husband, no fault divorce, etc.

If I may blow that whistle again, another conservative belief is that white men are much better than their women. That may be why you can’t see any women’s issues that have been advanced as an example of a “good thing.”

“Liberal ideas are very emotional with great intentions but great ignorance of core human behavior and rarely respectful of real world results.” Ed that was beautiful. I don’t understand why you are so quick to say don’t use the term Republican when you are quoting us so well.

If “liberals” are the ones who are so emotional why aren’t they shooting doctors who won’t perform abortions? Was it a “liberal” who shot Lincoln? Was it a liberal murdered those civil rights children? Was it a liberal who help a baseball bat to the head of a black girl who wanted to attend a state college that her peoples tax paying dollars contributed to its existence?

Oh, heck name me some conservatives that were killed, maimed, hanged, or jailed because they espoused something a liberal didn’t like. While you are giving us your connotation on “liberal” and “conservative” add your definition of “emotional” to that too.

Ed please just what does “core human behavior” mean? Are you implying that we humans are basically evil, racist, bigoted and just plain corrupt. Is it your definition that it is liberal to believe that the core human spirit is good?

Oh, and I love that “and rarely respectful of real world results.” It just flows off ones tongue. It should be good for impressing the right air head for a quick roll in the hay. But it I am not sure it works well for serious social debate. “Results’ are the consequences of things we do “real world” or otherwise.

As for “ideas THAT WORK,” wouldn’t that depend on what you considered working?Bush may consider that his ideas on the economy are working, but others with different opinions may differ. You may wish to ponder that most great inventions, social achievements arose from ideas that felt good.

The Constitution of the United States of America was a idea that felt good to the founding fathers. The granting of voting rights to women was an idea that felt good. The liberation of slavery was an idea that felt good. The democrats would opine that the idea of changing the corrupt atmosphere in which business is done in Washington feels oh so good! All of the previous ideas that felt good worked in the real world. And I dare say that the latter could too.

The best thing about the internet is that one can get information almost instantly. Unfortunately for us old bullshitters that make our old bold lies too easily disproved. Anyone who googles will find that your quote of 30 + years of democratic control is false. But why split hairs? Let’s just get to the facts.

The last 10 generations have had only three democratic presidents and Clinton was two of them. Yet the guy we republicans are so vitriol about is the only president in that time to balance the budget. He not only balanced it he left Bush a trillion dollar surplus.

How do you explain calling the democrats the spenders when Bush not only spent the entire trillion dollars but he has us trillions of dollars in debt. If this is your idea of fiscal conservatism, you need some serious math lessons.

Bush’s wasting of the taxpayers dollars is not an aberration of the republicans. Google it everyone of them ran a huge deficit. Ronald Reagan spent more money than all the previous presents combined.

Speaking of ruining generations, why is it that every large gas increase happens during a republican presidents tenure. Ronald Reagan presided over the first big jump in prices at the gas pump both Bushes have continued the tradition of doubling gas prices at the pump under their administrations. Are these the “ideas THAT WORK” you keep espousing? Rather than knocking the democrats why don’t you tell Zen Lill some of the great (or anything) things that the republican party has given the American people. The republican rhetoric has been so great for so long that the American people have been conned into believing they have been better off because of the republicans when they have run then most corrupt administrations in the history of this country. Google it Ronald Reagan had more people in his administration than any other administration before him. And more of his people were convicted that under Nixon another republican.

These are facts that a quick google will confirm, yet you boldly ask for “good things that have been done by liberalism.” Bush’s administration may very well prove to be the most corrupt bunch to date. Wanna bet that Fox “news” will be absent from that coverage?

So now I get to examine some of the “few liberal positions, which” you “feel have damaged this country.”

    1. Standards for admissions to universities, fire departments, etc. should be lowered for people of color. ******* When a government takes affirmative action to disallow a portion of its citizens admissions to its universities, fire departments, etc. because of their color, then they should take equal affirmative action to right that wrong. Those whites have their accomplishments because of the taxes the people of color contributed towards those government entities. It is so “conservative” of you to forget their angst but remind them of yours now that they ask for help from the same government that helped your parents at their expense.

    2. Bilingual education for children of immigrants, rather than immersion in English, is good for them and for America. ****** America succeeds because it is the melting pot of the world. The best and the brightest come here to contribute to our greatness. America doesn’t ask them to give up their culture or language to be Americans; she only as them to be good Americans. I guess that may be too liberal for you.

    3. Murderers should never be put to death. ****** I’m for the death penalty. But even I don’t want a system that disproportionately executes non whites for the same or lessor crimes and which has been proven to frame and thereby murder non whites at an alarming rate. Google it Ed. Some how I think you already know this, you are just too conservative for it to matter. I hope you remember you started this tirade out with the proclamation that it was Zen Lill who was acting “like a close minded media programmed sheep when applying labels to people.” Let’s hope this doesn’t end up a case of the, eh .. how does that go? Oh, yeah, “the pot calling the kettle……….”

    4. During the Cold War, America should have adopted a nuclear arms freeze.
****** Come on let’s not try to sneak in than old canard that Ronald Reagan had something to do with the fall of the Soviet Union. A simple googling of secrets sold to the russians will show that the only American secret nuclear or otherwise not known the Soviet Union was the fact that the American covert community didn’t know that their secrets were being sold on a daily basis by their good-ole-boy system of hiring only white men for the top spots.
Ironic isn’t it that it was those good old conservative white men who for money, not ideology Who sold our their country. It would seem that liberals keep their dissatisfactions with their government at home while good ole conservatives never miss an opportunity to practice good old American capitalism by selling out the country they profess to hold so dear to the highest bidder. Not unlike it would seem that present day business as usual Washington style politicians do with international corporations), yet would call Obama naive for believing he can change that practice. Need help sorting out the “liberal media bias?” Google Aldrich Ames, Ames’ damage to U.S. called ‘mind-boggling’ - October 31, 1995
    Harold J. Nicholson
CNN - Veteran CIA official charged with spying - Nov. 18, 1996

    5. Colleges should not allow ROTC programs. ****** We both know that this is just pandering to smear tactics. Liberals do not propose this. Cheap shot.

    6. It was wrong to wage war against Saddam Hussein in the Gulf War. ***** It’s very interesting that you tell Zen Lill to be careful about what the “liberal Gulf War. They were against the fact that we had to enter it because the Bush administration gave Saddam the wrong signals. It was an American diplomat that told Saddam that we would not interfere if he attacked Kuwait. Google it.

    7. Poor parents should not be allowed to have vouchers to send their children to private schools. ****** This is another conservative code for promoting segregation. There is nothing wrong with public schools that federal aid cannot fix. I have travel this globe extensively. Nothing beats a good public education. The key is commitment to a GOOD public education system. It should be handled on a federal level. If we can spend 12 billion dollars a month in Iraq for 5 plus years, we can certainly spend a few million a month to insure that every American kid gets a quality education. Why is it that conservatives cry about spending money to solve the American people’s problem but call the liberals unpatriotic when they cry about spending money to solve another country’s problems. I leave it to you Zen Lill. Which position seems more unpatriotic? Of course for the conservative the latter means that some corporation will benefit from all that war money.

    8. It is good that trial lawyers and teachers unions are the two biggest contributors to the Democratic Party. ****** Again for the republicans a good defense is a good offense. So they accuse the democrats so no one will ask who are their biggest contributors. How about BIG Oil, Pharmaceuticals, PAC, HMOs, Insurance Companies, Big Food and Farm conglomerates, International Corporations, and Big money special interests of every stripe. Now which party do you think is doing the American people the most harm. Ever wonder why the Republican mantra is less government? That’s what our contributions want and pay for - less regulation of their business. Ed’s “real world result” is corruption, death, war, mortgage crisis due to scams and theft, and a government that is bankrupt fiscally and morally.

Yet to be fair to Ed we should examine what’s wrong with teachers unions and trial lawyers. The teachers should be firing their unions because this country pays less to the people who have the minds and soles of our future in their hands five days a week for six to eight hours than they do to accountants, stockbrokers, policemen, firemen or just about anybody else. The republicans for all their public claims to family values are the party that treats the teacher the worse. I did mention the word hypocrisy earlier didn’t I. Keep it in mind it will rear its ugly head often in the discussion of Ed’s 27 “liberal positions.”

Trial Lawyers –**** Now this is one of the easiest for the Republicans to turn the people against. If they only knew, okay I’ll tell. Hello, America, trial lawyers are the last obstacle between you and total control of the American people’s life by big corporations. The government has removed all control over these corporations. They can sell you dangerous products, abuse your retirement program, fire you at will, pollute your environment, force you to work under dangerous conditions, etc…
You only defense, recourse to any of these problems is the trial lawyer. They know this so they pay the Republicans to demonize the trial lawyers, to pass laws limiting the amount of recovery they can get for you and sneakiest one of all limiting % they can get from their clients, you. All of these things the republicans do for their paid contributors to drive them out of the business of providing the ordinary person of his day in court. And if not that to see to it that the ordinary person will not be able to afford the high price legal talent they can pay to keep for paying you.
So (here comes that word hypocrisy again) the republican pretend that they have your interest in mind when they cut the lawyer’s % from 60% to 40%. What you are not aware of is that your lawyer has to spend months if not years fighting on your behalf before he gets paid. Sometimes they cannot afford to wait years for 40% if a judgement that the republicans have placed a limit on what a jury can award. The result is you can’t find a lawyer to take your case. Ed’s real world result is that for you 100% of nothing is what you get rather than 40% of something that rewards you and deters that corporation and future corporation from exercising such conduct.
These big corporation run a very sophisticated campaign of dis-information. All you hear about are the supposed big awards going to people like the woman who sued McDonald’s for spilling hot coffee on herself. But if you google it you will find that she did not receive a tenth of that amount. In 95% of the cases against big corporations the judge reduces the awards. The Corps get two bites at the apple. If they lose in court a little gentle persuasion and the judge almost always reduces the award.
One other thing if you google the award, you will discover that the reason McDonald lost is because this was not their first offense ( as is usually the case with offenses by these big corporations). They had been warned to lower the temperature of their coffee because it was so hot it presented a danger to anyone who accidently spilled it on them. This was not just hot it was scaldingly hotly brewed.

    9. Marriage should be redefined from male-female to any two people. ****** One more time explain to me how the marriage of two people of the same sex hurts anyone. For the conservative simply substitute “different race” for “same sex” and you get the point. Same argument, different time hence different issue. If they thought they could get away with it they would. Remember when Japanese were forced to marry only japanese in California. Wanna bet there aren’t a bunch of “conservative” Japanese americans marching with white conservatives against same sex marriages. Little do they know that those same people they are marching with would deny them the right to marry the opposite sex of their choice if they could. Oh, they will deny it, but wink, wink, we whites know that it’s true. We are just so tolerant of our white bigots. We let them call themselves conservative and we. wink, wink, pretend that we don’t know that it is code for We should have the right to believe that we are better than you because we are white. Sorry Obama, you may be half white, but because the color of your skin is too dark that is just not good enough for us conservatives. Zen try not to be too angry with me. At least I’m honest. No more code for me I refuse to be a hypocrite, looking for reasons why I don’t like him when i know that it is because he is too dark. Am I still you “sweet pea?” (yes, but can you please explain this since you don’t seem to be very prejudice to me, it’s perplexing…)

    10. A married couple should not have more of a right to adopt a child than two men or two women. ****** No comment. This is just too stupid. Yeah, I do have a comment. Ed are you saying that married couples don’t abuse their children? What are you basing that comment on. I swear Zen Lill if you were married to person that thought like that be he man, woman or it, I would steal you away from the misery.

    11. The Boy Scouts should not be allowed to use parks or any other public places and should be prohibited from using churches and synagogues for their meetings. ****** Ed this is America. The laws apply to everyone equally. The Boy Scouts don’t get to discriminate because they are Boy Scouts. I refuse to allow any of my corporations to aid the Boy Scouts in any way. Zen remember my admonition about those conservatives that scream the loudest about homosexuality. I’m sure you are aware that some of the biggest conservative screamers have been outed as screaming practicing homosexuals. Hmmmm???

    12. The present high tax rates are good as is bigger government. ****** Again smoke and mirrors. Ask Ed if he can name a Republican president that didn’t end in a huge deficient. Don’t ask him to give you an explanation because they always have someone to blame. Clinton BALANCED THE FEDERAL BUDGET and left Bush a trillion plus surplus. Where is the money Ed?
If bigger government means more government oversight on these thieving corporations, insurance, mortgage, energy and food companies, I say hell yes. Of course Ed may prefer less government like the lack of auditors so that the Halliburtons don’t have sufficient oversight on their billion dollar overcharges of the American people. Like the shoddy work being performed on the quarters in Iraq that have cause our children to be electrocuted in their showers. Or the un-armored hummers that cause our children to be killed and maimed. Or the government regulators to police the food, drug, water suppliers of the American people. I know who pays the Republican party to deregulate their business and to give the American people the business that its for less government.

    13. Speech codes on college campuses are good and American values are bad. As just what are his ideas of American values. America is the melting pot of the world. Her values are constantly changing. For example one of her values use to be slavery. Anther was to consider women “chattle.” So ask Ed just what values is he referring to. Or is he using a speech code for white values.

    14. The Israelis and Palestinians are morally equivalent. ****** Conservatives are good at demonizing their perceived enemies. Before we ask him who died and appointed him our moral guide, maybe this is a good time to tell him that presently the Israelis and the Palestinians are working on a ceasefire. That means they did what Obama “naively” suggests they are pursuing a diplomatic solution to their conflict.

    15. The United Nations is a moral force for good in the world, and therefore America should be subservient to it and such international institutions as a world court. ****** Another silly contention. One that could be only be made by a person with no international understanding. Hello, America is large to you Ed. But the the world it cannot survive on its own. It is part of and international community of other sovereign nations. That word “sovereign” means that they are nations that are fully independent of the USA and that they are free to determine their own affairs. As a result the United Nations is needed to be a place where these nations can go to resolve disputes, conflicts, etc, without resorting to war. No nation should place itself above everyone else in the world.
Of course, if you belong to a party that subscribes to manipulating the justice system of its own country to avoid answering for it mistakes criminal or otherwise, one can hardly expect you to sit quietly and allow international justice to prevail.

    16. It is good that colleges have dropped hundreds of men’s sports teams in order to meet gender-based quotas. ****** What kind of person proposes that the greater evil is to deprive men of they want than to deprive women of something they want. This is the kind of guy a woman will can be cute to as long as she doesn’t ask to share equally in the opportunities that America has to offer it people. To hell with the fact that her tax dollars go to the same general fund as his does. This is the same logic applied to non whites when their tax dollars went to enforcing laws that outlawed their participation in city, state, or federal jobs. It seems that claiming to be conservative gives that person a license to espouse racist, bigoted and insensitive remarks by presenting them as “conservative” opinions. How tolerant the liberals and independents are of conservatives. If by some chance a non white espouse a similar opinion that belittles or deprives whites of something then he or she is immediately branded un-american. In the end I am better off than non whites because those are the core human values in america in which the real world results are I get treated better. Don’t believe me. The next time you hear a white man complain about being white in America ask him what race he wants to be while living in America. That’ll do it.

    17. No abortions can be labeled immoral. ****** When Ed and I can give birth to babies we will revisit this statement. (love this, thank you very much, you may even get promoted for this alone)

    18. Restaurants should be prohibited by law from allowing customers to choose between a smoking and a non-smoking section. This is just plain stupid. As if cigarette smoke knows the difference between smoking and non smoking sections. What makes Ed think the employes would want to risk their health serving some asshole who is too stupid to know that smoking kills. Again this brings us back to the mind set of a person who calls him/herself a conservative. It is usually someone who believes that their values “core values” outweigh yours. What kind of mind set must be prevailing for a person to argue that his risky behavior should be forced upon another person.

How about this for hypocrisy? Ed proposes that smoking which is a choice that could cause actual physical harm to parties that do not exercise that choice should be tolerated. While same sex marriage which is a choice that does not cause harm to parties that do not exercise that choice should be prevented.
I for one want to get my hands on whoever died and left Ed in charge of my morals or “core human values,” because the “real world result” is i am getting screwed.

    19. High schools should make condoms available to students and teach them how to use them. ****** Another hot button we Republicans use to “wake up” our constituents. Nothing gets republicans madder than teaching their girls how not to get pregnant. We want them to suffer for their sins.

    20. Racial profiling for terrorists is wrong — a white American grandmother should as likely be searched as a Saudi young male. ******* Let me ask did we racially profile all white males driving pickup trucks in Oklahoma when Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols blew up the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building and murdered 168 men, women, and children? The U.S. government passed laws to increase protection around federal buildings but no law enforcement agency profiled white males. Zen Lill ask Ed privately via email why he thinks that didn’t happen. He might be more honest.

    21. Racism and poverty — not a lack of fathers and a crisis of values — are the primary causes of violent crime in the inner city. ******* Hello, Ed, Racism and poverty is the chief cause of a lack of fathers in the ghettos( “inner cities,” please, I’m going to need my hip boots pretty soon.). “Crisis of Values” the one thing white conservatives love are talking points which itself if a sweet work. Conservatives like talking points because it requires no real though.
Who’s “values” Ed? Yours, mine, his, the guy who died and left you in charge? Values take a back seat when you have no job and no prospects for a job that will pay you enough to live with dignity on. White America had better face it, if we continue to deprive these people of an equal opportunity to succeed along side of us they will not go back quietly to the ghetto and starve to death. They will do whatever it takes to survive. There are not enough jails or cops to put them in prisons. We have to share the wealth of this great nation.

    22. It is wrong and unconstitutional for students to be told, “God bless you” at their graduation, or to involve god in any way in public education. ****** This is another hot button to awaken the constituents. While we got them looking up at the heavens our hands are deep into their pockets and we are laughing all the way to the bank. But Okay, I’ll play.
No, it is not unconstitutional to say “God bless you,” but it is unconstitutional for you or the government to decide who that “God” should be. The separation of religion and the state allows us to worship but expressly prevents the state from promoting a particular deity. We Republicans know that. We just like to play with the emotions of our less educated constituents. So no if it is public education. the operative word being public as in government sponsored, then the constitution says NO. What part of that no is unclear to you Ed?
The Republican hypocrisy is starting to loom large again. On the one hand you refuse to spend money on public education, but you want to use them to promote your religious beliefs.

    23. No culture is morally superior to any other. ****** That depends on whose ox is being gored. Or who died and left Ed in charge of the world’s core values. The white man’s culture told him that he was morally superior to the rest of the world and slavery and colonialism was born. The white man’s culture told him that he was superior to the American indian. They became savages and 12 million human beings were exterminated. The Germans, Cambodians, Hutus, Serbs, japanese, Arabs, christians, muslins, etc. cultures told them they were morally superior. The result is always genocide.
That is exactly why the naivete of a man like Obama is needed. To prevent more of those who would tell their people that their culture is morally superior to others from rising to power.

    4. Guns are the cause of crime and should be removed from society, not bad values or deviant upbringing despite overwhelming statistics that prove guns are used to stop violence far more than they create it. ****** I love my guns so this is a difficult one. But your “facts” are made up as usual so I can refute them easily. Just look at europe no guns no mass murders. It is a fact before Reagan deregulated the weapons industry, we did not have guns in the hands of our children and they were not killing each other and everybody else so frequently. Unless you have conveniently forgotten 60’s 70’s and the 80’s, the facts speak for themselves.
Those guns in the hands of our children and the criminals didn’t come from some foreign country. The criminals are not making them in some secret warehouse. They come from the deregulated gun makers who are profiting off the violence they instigate in the streets of America. Then they tell the law biding citizen that he/she needs to buy one too. These gun merchants of death have us coming and going. Not unlike the days when they would give guns to one nation and then tell their neighbors “Look how armed your neighbor is” You had better arm yourself for protection.
So not the ordinary citizen is told, “Look how armed the streets are” you had better get armed for your protection. The republicans are bought and paid for so they promote the idea that guns are needed for these dealers of death.

    25. Poverty is the cause of rime, not morals, values or upbringing. ****** Probably the only time poverty not morals, values or upbringing is not the cause of crime is when the crime is a “white collar” crime.

    26. Worry about the patriot act interfering with rights and keeping gov out of the bedroom but think nothing of the impact and implications of higher taxes, hate speech laws, mandatory quotas, non compromising environmental policies, second hand smoke laws, mandatory socialized medicine. ****** You are revisiting some issues here so I will only tackle the pertinent ones. The patriot act (the title itself from hypocritical politicians should have been a red flag) is an attack on the constitution. If you are so damn afraid of the rest of the world that you would give up your basic constitutional rights for your safety , then move to North Korea or China. This is America we bow to no one when it comes to our constitutionally protected bill of rights, especially some hypocritical, terror mongering politician.

Ed the term “mandatory socialized medicine” is another one of those talking points that we give to the little conservative so that he sounds like he knows what he is talking about when he spouts the spiel that we have taught him. It seems that you are a very good little conservative. But between you and me it would serve you better to learn the meaning of the words of the people that you quote so eloquently.
Google this America is the only major industrialized country that doesn’t have as you call it “socialized medicine.” Why do you think that is? Is it possible because the politicians who contribute so heavily to the coffers of the republican party are the big insurance companies. The very people who are the middle men between the American people and their doctors. Some how you don’t count them when you imply that Americans have a personal relationship with their doctors. Nothing could be further from the truth. Insurance companies determine who gets insurance, how much, and the degree and kind of health care that will be available to the insured. Actuaries and accountants make those decisions not medical personnel.
Yet you regurgitate this “socialized medicine” crap as if you have a clue about what you are talking about. What difference does it make to the sick, ill or injured who needs health care if it is “socialized medicine” if he is told by an insurance company that he does not qualify or that he can not afford to purchase one for his family?
You were quick to lecture Zen Lill about being indoctrinated by the liberal media. Perhaps you should check your own situation before you sound off with your given republican, excuse me. conservative talking points.

    27. The war in Iraq is a failure and we should surrender by pulling out on a time line regardless of events, even if it creates a power vacuum where millions will be slaughtered and a base for Islamic terror will be established like the world has never seen before. ****** My god, man when you implore the talking points you just keep on working the terror angle. If you can’t scare them in line with the apocalypse is due tomorrow how about terror like the world has never seen before. That would be before what? When the Germans killed six million Jews. When we killed 12 million American Indians, when the Asians slaughtered millions of their people, when the Australians killed 4 million Aborigines. “Never seen before when?” It would appear that the world has seen lots of terror.

Get a clue Ed. The war in Iraq is illegal. It was launched on a lie. We killed and maimed millions of people on a lie. What part of there were no weapons of mass destruction do you not understand. We did not go into Iraq to liberate it from the tyranny of Saddam. You can not justify the illegal occupation of a sovereign country with a pretense that you went there to liberate it’s people.
If someone comes to your home claiming that you have some danger in your home to their survival and began to occupy it lone after it is proven that you harbor no such items. You want them out of your home. You do not fine love, or understanding for their being there. You want them out. You make whatever compromise that you feel is necessary for you to occupy your home while they are still there, but you want them out. Just because you do not have the power to force them out of your home doesn’t mean you have fallen in love or cooperation with them. Ed the appearance of cooperation is NOT cooperation.
Americans are occupiers of Iraq n NOT liberators. You talk about “real world results.” Well the real world results of Bush’s illegal war is that Bin Laden is laughing at us daily. Issuing speeches about his successes. Iran has become more powerful than ever. They may have a nuclear bomb before we leave Iraq.
What country will believe us now that the world knows that Bush lied to them and his own people to invade Iraq. If we attack Iran we will be on our own. Have you ever had to defend the policies militarily of a president? I think not or you wouldn’t be so liberal about leaving our children over there to die for a liar. If you are so committed to Bush and McCain’s policies why not yours to serve or join yourself. When the bullets start flying and the smell of gun power, sweat, urine death and fear fill your nostrils, you will not soon forgive a man that sent you to that experience on a lie nor an administration that your keep you there in spite of it.
You have the principle of an armed chair warrior. Stand tall and sprout them be grateful that others will die for your right to your opinion. But ever so often consider what you are asking of those who would die for your right to feel so morally justified in your opinion. Understand that they would not be cowards because they would give another leader the option to be diplomatic.
I still have the smells, sounds and sights of Dafur in my memory. I would not hesitate to serve my country if called. But I would expect to be sent by a President who felt that this was his/her last best option than a man who may one day be considered a war criminal for his lies.
The simple truth is 4,000 plus proud men and women and counting have died for nothing in Iraq. They were sent to their deaths by a deliberate lie. Winning or losing the present conflict in Iraq will not change that fact.
All the cute talking points like “power vacuum” or “islamic terror” won’t legitimize that illegal occupation of Iraq. Not having been a military man let me inform you that all occupying armies eventually pull out on some time line dictated by some event or series of events. You sound woefully ignorant by making that quote. The line was actually provided as a joke given to the chicken hawks by real military men so that they would be known for what they were by what they spoke. ?
It is not the Republicans that are corrupt per se. There are plenty Democrats that are owned by special interests too. But, if you are sitting where i am sitting you know that the Bush administration has taken corruption to whole new levels. The Democrats may have a higher track record for getting caught, but that does not excuse the successful criminals because they have yet to get caught.

“SO WHAT!” you say. That would be the reason why you would support McClain. “SO WHAT!” if he is crooked at least he isn’t so naive that he would envision a Washington that was not corrupt.

It seems that you like so many others, I included, just wanted to get your share of the graft. “Ride the coat tails.” For me this conversation has switched me to Obama. As my mother said after 230 years, its time to give someone else a chance to change things. In retrospect I wish I could post this to Michelle’s blog. I know she is a fan. If you would grant me this wish, I would be eternally gratefully. (you got it, babe, and you can heap on the eternal gratitude here or on my blog anytime)

So you believe that because the illegals or immigrants are paid $12 dollars an hour with “free health care and a safe infrastructure” they should be content to be your inferior. It’s must be very comforting to you that you see yourself as compassionate. Of course you would not see Zen Lill as compassionate when she is on her “Queen rant” because she speaks to you then as an equal or better. That would bother you. And yes the country is full of people like you and me. but some of us are recovering.

You said that “socialist countries tax their citizens so much they have nothing left to give and they have no choice but to put up with lousy service! ” **** If that’s true what is our excuse for having nothing left to give except to our gas station outlets and with no choice but to put up with lousy service? Our government allows our food supply to be poisoned on a regular basis, the credit card companies to rip us off at will, the mortgage companies to evict us at will, the insurance companies to dictate the level of medical service we receive, and pharmaceutical and energy companies to gouge us at will. All in all very lousy service and we don’t get universal health care in the bargain.

“Liberalism oppresses human spirit.” ****** That would be true if the human spirit was one that told us we were better than others because of the color of our skins.

Zenarella…you’ve created a monster…edit me before I type again….arrrgghhhh….. ***** Well actually the person(s) she should be editing is/are the one(s) who have provided you with these talking points. That would be the monster(s)

    Anonz?
PS Anonz, I could not find any reference to your mother, think that was in a previous rant, you’ve had a lot to say these past few days : )
I’ll be putting in my two cents on Ed’s comments and above on Monday…have to reread both, just trying to be fair. I think you might’ve hurt his feelings in a minor way, he left himself open for that though didn’t he, he left a follow up comment, did you see it? I think he might be inferring that either Queenie or Anonz needs a live life…yeah, well, he has got a point. I’m going to take my doggie for a walk on that note : )

    Ciao, Zen Lill

  3. Zen Lill Says:

Anonz, re: your request - one last statement to Ed on your blog Zen about the flap over Obama opting out of the public financing sham if that is okay with you.
…it is okay with me, you’re clearly on fire, and who the heck am I to stop you?!
You certainly have a style once you get going : )
I will run my commentary when I finish it…
I wish I could talk Ed into a better pet name than Zenerella, it’s a bit Cinderella-ish and not very Zen, don’t you think?
    - Zen Lill
PS you said this was your ‘last political rant’ so what do you do after this, sweet pea, tell us your horoscope sign and favorite color?? hahaha…I’m just goofin’ on a Fri afternoon, getting my humor geared up for a GNO ; )
